He will love this under the tree!
Christmas is here and as this time of year rolls around we want to give gifts, am I right?  Sometimes though, it is hard to find an affordable gift for that special someone. It is even harder to find that special gift for your dad, husband, or Uncle Arthur, for that matter. Guess what?  I have good news! The Home Depot’s Gift Center has a great selection of diverse tools from Husky! It offers you high-class products from screwdrivers to sockets and wrenches and all are for LOW prices, all under $20 and some are under $5. Great selection, affordable prices, high quality, and men LOVE tools!  I even see some drool! I am drooling from the great prices!

So, I was thrilled when Husky sent us the new 20 Piece T-Handle Driver Set!  When we took it out of the box, it happened.  My husband drooled!

He removed the t-handle screwdrivers and said that it really had a better grip than the traditional screwdrivers.  It takes a bit to get him excited about a product, but he was really loving the t-handle set!  To make the product even better, the whole 20 piece t-handle driver set is only 9.88 at Home Depot.  So when you are getting your last minute Christmas items at Home Depot, swing over to the tool section and get a special guy a great affordable gift!

Isaac is 12: Happy Birthday

Isaac's drawing of the Mayflower...I was so proud of him!
Hunting for Easter eggs!
Baby it's cold outside!
Trying not to smile....he can't hold it back!

My boy, Isaac, is TWELVE on December 2nd.  I can't believe he is only 12.  Why do I say that?  This boy, Isaac, has always acted so grown up and mature and for him to be only 12 amazes me. He and I have had adult conversations even before he hit kindergarten!  He can give great advise (I have needed it more times than not, trust me!)  Don't get me wrong.  He has had a LOT of kid moments in between, but he is such a great intellectual...and I have a lot of fun with him too!  He is the only one I can ask, "does this outfit look o.k.?", or "do these shoes or these shoes look good?".  He gives it to me straight, and I will go upstairs and change.

So, Happy Birthday to my 22-going-on-12 son!  I love you so very much!

He is on the left semi-frightened of Santa
Me trying to get Isaac to smile..I don't believe I was very convincing
My mom was doing some funny things to make us laugh..she shocked Caleb!

What a guy!

Isaac loves to sing and he can harmonize so well!

Happy Birthday to me on BLACK FRIDAY!

Hey All!

Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday Dear Leah, Happy Birthday to me (last part in four part harmony!).   Yes, I know I am singing to myself while typing but who could wish me a better Happy Birthday than the very person who has lived these thirty someish years? ME!  So here I am at 4:00 a.m. singing to myself (yes I need therapy, are you offering?)

My birthday is in all actuality on November the 26th (BLACK FRIDAY) and I am going to be shopping till I'm dropping, so I am celebrating a little early.  I love having my birthday on and around THANKSGIVING.  This season of thankfulness is a treasure to me...I know Christmas and the shopping has been crowding in (but do you blame the retailers in this sluggish economy?) on our pure, undefiled Thanksgiving, but just because that happens doesn't mean that I am any less thankful or blessed.  I am what I choose to be (choose you this day whom you will serve:  as for me and my house we will serve the Lord) and thank you Lord for my birthday and how it falls around Thanksgiving each year.  It is a great opportunity that I have to be around my whole family, and yes it is just one day so we can all get along great.  I get to kill two birds with one stone!

Rare footage of my blogging skills in action!

I even bought myself some presents.  I had a buy 2 get 2 free deal at Yankee Candles, so here is what I chose:

Festival of Light..matched my kitchen (Cinnamon smell)

Pomegranate Apple Cider and Hot Buttered Rum (they are both great)

Vanilla Cookie...I want the house to smell like I am cooking
I know I didn't buy any Christmas flavors, but I can't get into the pine and tree smells...I am sorry, they just make me gag just sniffing them a few seconds.  I was going to get the Christmas Cupcake, but the Vanilla Cookie smelled stronger, so I went for the Cookies!  These are the first Yankee Candles I have ever bought, they make my house smell like Martha Stewart and Paul Deen's house all rolled up together in a sweet little glass jar, ya'll.  Sorry, I was in my Paula Deen groove.

So Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Birthday to me!

A Fire During The Rain

She looks good until...

Wednesday morning I got a call from Mom. I could tell from her voice somthing was wrong. She told me that she had just called the fire department and that Dad's John Deere Combine was on fire! I was pacing around not knowing what exactly to do. I told Mom that I would go over and see if I could help.

I turned on to road 1075 and I could see a huge ring of smoke...That was not comforting in the least! I got there, and there was only smoke, Dad got the fire out....He had to use 3 or 4 fire extinguishers! I directed the volunteer firefighters where to go. After a while I walked up there, and one of the said, "I don't think we can save this one." See, this was the third combine that caught on fire! I was about to loose my breakfast and I hadn't even eaten! What I didn't know, the fire started sometime in the night and it was on fire all night and the morning!

we look inside!

so sad what fire can do

back of the cab

steering wheel

doesn't look too bad in this one

the boys get in a few minutes with the old combine

Dad had to break the glass to stop the fire

So, Dad talked to his insurance company, and he got another combine.  It arrived today!  The kids are loving on her!  They love the new steps, they are a lot easier to get up and down on!  The auger is huge and higher than the 4200.
Wow, it is so big

We love the cab

basking in the sun
So, this Turbo 6620 is going to eat a few ears of corn and then she will stomach a few acres of soy beans.  It's harvest time.  A lot to do!

Happy Birthday to two!

We celebrated Noah and Abigail's birthday.  To make this banner, go here.  They were both born in September, so we always have them a big party...together.  Isaac and Caleb get a little party because they were born in different months...how is that fair?!?!?  (btw, I have got to do something differently about that.  let me add that to my Mommy-To-Do-List!)

This is a pic of Noah when he was little.......

and here is a pic of Noah now.....time has flown!

Here is a pic of Abigail when she was 6 months....

and here is a pic of her now... (tear, sigh, I am O.K. now)

Uncle Curt also has a September birthday, so I decided to make a cake with all three.  I am trying to get better at making cakes.  I like to do all kinds of crafts and projects, but the cake is the hardest for me to master.  I am making great strides, but I am still wet behind the ears!

We had a lot of food and had a great time.  It is so much fun to see them look forward to their birthday party's.  I hope they remember them forever. You have to have a lot of food at a birthday party, am I right?

Here is my baby!  He is a cutie!

Is anyone getting hungry yet!

food, glorious food!

Abigail loves her Daddy!

My Mommy!  She's so pretty!

My Sissy!  She's so pretty too!
My nutty son!  He is the comedian, wouldn't you say?

Noah received what every teen wants for their b-day:  $$$$

Abigail received a doll, scooter, and $$$!

I love you both so much and pray God blesses you and your future lives to the uttermost!  I know I am sentimental, but it seems like a little while ago I was having these same parties myself.  Time just passes so quickly!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO TWO!  WE LOVE YOU!
